James Caan

James Caan (born March 26, 1939, The Bronx, New York) is an American actor. Caan's parents were Jewish refugees from Germany. He presently stars when "Big Ed Deline" on the NBC hit series, Las Vegas.

The graduate of New York City's Neighborhood Playhouse where one of his instructors was teaching legend Sanford Meisner, Caan began acting in television in such series as The Untouchables. His number one real film role was as a menacing villain in the 1964 thriller Lady In A Cage. Inside 1967, Caan appeared in El Dorado with John Wayne. Caan number one won praise for his role as a brain-damaged football player in The Rain People (1969), directed by Francis Ford Coppola. Within 1971, Caan won even greater plaudits when death football streaming video player Brian Piccolo in the television movie ''Brian's Song. A resulting season Coppola cast Caan when mobster Sonny Corleone in The Godfather'', which also helped launch Al Pacino's career. For his role Caan was nominated for an Academy Award.

Stardom
From either 1973 to 1982, Caan appeared in numbers of Hollywood films. He played the wide kind of roles & refused to become typecast as a gangster. His numerous films include Cinderella Liberty, Freebie and The Bean, The Gambler, The Killer Elite, Rollerball, Harry And Walter Go To New York, A Bridge Too Far, Comes A Horseman and Chapter Two (a play screenplay conversion by Neil Simon).

Inside 1980, Caan directed Hide In Plain Sight the film about a father shopping for his tikes misplaced in the Witness Protection Program. Despite critical praise, the film was non a hit.

A resulting season, Caan appeared inside Thief, directed by Michael Mann, where he played the agent safe cracker. This film is now regarded as a film noir classic and Caan has typically said these are a role he is pleased next to The Godfather.

From either 1982 to 1987, Caan did not work in any films. Around 1999, Caan joined the ranks of Humphrey Bogart, Robert Mitchum and Powers Boothe when he portrayed Philip Marlowe in the HBO film Poodle Springs.

A select few of his virtually all recent appearances use been in The Yards (2000), City of Ghosts (2002), Dogville (2003) and Elf (2003).

Caan has been married four times. Within 1960 he married Dee Jay Mathis; they divorced around 1966 and had of these little one. His 2nd marriage by owning Sheila Ryan (1976) was short lived, and it divorced a next season. His boy Scott was born within 1976. Between September 199& March 1995 Caan was married to Ingrid Hajek; they too got a single baby. He married Linda Stokes within October 1995, but had recently divorced from either her inside April 2005. It use 2 youngsters.

James Caan was the Turnberry Island regular. He was friendly by using marijuana smugglers Joey Ippolito and Ben Kramer.
